The Morale, Welfare. and Relaxation (R&R) employees that serve our soldiers have asked OPERATION: A Bit of Home to help them out.
Over the last four years Americans have helped built the largest DVD lending library for our troops in Iraq. Two other facilities were also opened to service more troops.
We are now sending players and DVD's to Kandahar Afghanistamn where they are badly needed, and they need DVD's and players.
Almost every household has DVD's that they no longer watch. Our soldiers are guaranteed to put them to good use.
Adventure ~ Drama ~ Shoot-'em-ups ~ Comedy ~ Sports Highlights ~ Musicals, almost any movies are welcome.
Of course, there are rules:
1. NO VHS Tapes
2. NO X rated or Pornographic Movies
3. Please no Barny, Wiggles, Sesame Street. Kids tapes are not needed. (The USO could really use these!)
Please talk to co-workers, neighbors, churches, schools, YOU can easily collect 20 DVD's to send to the troops.

Girl Scout Troop 499 started their Girl Scout year with a worthy project. After seeing a newspaper article about the Orange and Villa Park Rotary Clubs collecting DVD's to send to the troops in Afghanistan, they decided to help the effort. Some of the girls brought DVD's from home. Flyers and posters were made so they could collect from family, friends, neighbors and anyone that would help. After all was collected the girls had more than 400 DVD's to donate. A special thanks goes to the parents at Nohl Canyon Elementary where the largest amount of donations came from. Thank you to everyone that helped.
