2. Obtain those items and place them in a box. On the east coast, it is most cost effective to send parcel post, on the west, the flat rate $8.95 box works well but does not hold larger items. There are no weight limitations. You are only limited by what will fit in the box! Be sure to follow the guidelines on what NOT to send!
3. Make sure you do not pack soaps and cleaners with snacks. We always place soaps and shampoo etc. in Zip Lock Bags
4. Make a Label addressed to:

5. Obtain a form 2976A from the Post Office and fill it out. Instructions for filling out the form are below.
6. Somewhere on the face of the box please print "Operation: A Bit of Home" This lets them know you are aware of what you can and cannot send and that the box should be safe to open.

Note 1: Some postall employees may try to tell you that you have to list everything in the box. Tell them there are 50-60 different items in the box, and ask how the list will fit in this little space. Some will insist, so do the best you can with the space you have.
Note 2: If you are sending books, pack only books in the box and list books, Ask for the special book rate that will save you money.
Note 3: Never pack food and toiletries together, Always pack toiletries with lids tightened and place in Large Zip-Lock Bags.
